IMPORTANT: BY USING THE SITE, YOU GIVE YOUR CONSENT THAT ALL PERSONAL DATA THAT YOU SUBMIT MAY BE PROCESSED BY US IN THE MANNER AND FOR THE PURPOSES DESCRIBED BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, DO NOT USE THE SITE.
In order to better provide you with our service, we may collect three types of information about our users: Personally Identifiable Information, information when using our mobile Site and Aggregate Information.
Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”): This refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are. You are not required to provide us with any PII to access the Site. Examples of PII may include your first and last name, email address, telephone number, date of birth and zip code. You may also voluntarily provide other PII, whether or not specifically requested by us, by posting publicly viewable comments on the Site. You agree that we may collect any PII voluntarily supplied by you, whether or not we have requested it. You must not submit any PII relating to a third party without obtaining their consent. We do not knowingly collect any information relating to third parties which you do not have permission to provide. Please beware that without providing any PII, you will not be able to receive insurance quotes, purchase insurance or engage in any other similar services on the Site. When you engage in certain activities on our Site, such as sending us an email to Privacy@MultiChoiceInsurance.com or utilizing our “Contact Us” page, we will ask you to provide certain PII.
a. We do not collect any types of Sensitive Data from our users. Sensitive Data includes any PII pertaining to: race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union memberships, genetic or biometric data, health or mortality, and sex life or sexual orientation. Please immediately notify us if you have accidentally submitted any Sensitive Data and we shall promptly remove such information.
If accessing the mobile Site, we may also collect mobile device ID; device name and model; operating system type, name, and version; language information; with your permission, we will collect location information from your mobile device using GPS technology (or similar technology) to help you identify your assignment’s address. You may turn off this feature through the location settings on your mobile device.
Aggregate Information: This refers to information that does not by itself identify a specific individual. We gather certain information about you based upon which parts of the Site you visit and what other sites may have directed you to us. This information, which is collected in a variety of different ways, is compiled and analyzed on both a personal and an aggregated basis. This information may include a website's Uniform Resource Locator ("URL") that points to the site you just came from, which URL you go to after visiting our Site, what browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol ("IP") address.
We do not collect any PII about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain PII to us when you elect to use certain services available on the Site.
We will primarily use your PII to provide information for you. We will also use certain forms of PII to enhance the operation of our Site, improve our internal marketing and promotional efforts, statistically analyze Site use, improve our service, and customize the Site’s content, layout, and services. We may use PII to deliver information to you, and to contact you if you request that we do so. Finally, we may use your PII to enforce our agreements with you, including our Site’s Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.
We may also use your PII to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions in any mail we send (as further discussed in Sections6 and 7).
We may also collect certain Aggregate Information. For example, we may use your IP address to diagnose problems with our servers, software, to administer our Site and to gather demographic information.
If your web browser emits “do not track” signals, or you use other mechanisms that provide you the opportunity to prevent the collection of PII or Aggregate Information about your online activities, we honor these signals or mechanisms by refraining from collecting information about you.
We use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about your use of our Site. We may combine this information with other personal information we collect from you.
Cookies. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. Some cookies allow us to make it easier for you to navigate our Site, while others are used to enable a faster log-in process or to allow us to track your activities at our Site and Service. There are two types of cookies: session and persistent cookies.
a. Session Cookies. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser or turn off your computer. We use session cookies to allow our systems to uniquely identify you during a session or while you are logged into the Site. This allows us to process your online transactions and requests and verify your identity, after you have logged in, as you move through our Site.
b. Persistent Cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you have closed your browser or turned off your computer. We use persistent cookies to track aggregate and statistical information about user activity, and to display advertising both on our Site and on third-party sites. However, we do not use persistent cookies to track your browsing behaviors.
c. Disabling Cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Visitors to our Site who disable cookies will be able to browse certainareas of the Site, but some features may not function.
d. Clear GIFs, pixel tags and other technologies: Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your computer’s hard drive, clear GIFs are embedded invisibly on web pages. We may use clear GIFs (a.k.a. web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags), in connection with our Site and Services to, among other things, track the activities of Site visitors, help us manage content, and compile statistics about Site usage. We and our third party service providers also use clear GIFs in HTML emails to our customers, to help us track email response rates, identify when our emails are viewed, and track whether our emails are forwarded.
We will not sell, trade, or rent your PII to others. We do provide some of our services through contractual arrangements made with affiliates, service providers, partners, and other third parties ("Service Partners"). Our Service Partners include all of the insurance providers available on our Site and Google Analytics, which is used to view and collect the Aggregate Information. If you purchase or submit information in furtherance of purchasing a specific insurance policy, you will be submitting your PII to that specific Service Partner. We use Constant Contact, sendinblue and Mailchimp to provide email and text marketing, respectively. We may choose to provide your email address on file to Facebook, DoubleClick, and Google Ads for advertising targeting on other websites. We and our Service Partners may need to use some PII in order to perform tasks between our respective sites or to deliver services to you. For example, we use Service Partners to assist us in delivering our electronic newsletters and communications to you, providing direct marketing and advertising and analyzing Aggregate Information.
We will choose Service Partners who adopt and promote strong privacy policies. However, the use of your PII by our Service Partners is governed by the respective privacy policies of those providers and is not subject to our control. Specifically, the insurance policy you choose is governed by that specific carrier. The carrier and their affiliate third parties will have access to all PII delivered through us to them. Please visit the appropriate provider’s privacy policy and terms and conditions to determine how they use your PII.
Except as otherwise discussed in this Privacy Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. Any other sites accessible through our Site, including those of our Service Partners, have their own privacy policies and data collection, use and disclosure practices. Please consult each site's privacy policy. We are not responsible for the policies or practices of third parties.
Other than our Service Partners, we do not allow third parties to collect PII or Aggregate information about you or your online activities when you use our Site.
Occasionally we may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide PII to the appropriate governmental authorities. In such cases, we will disclose PII upon receipt of a court order, subpoena, or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation. We fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities. We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful.
We may make available a service through which you can receive messages on your wireless device via short message service ("SMS Service"). You understand that your wireless carrier’s standard rates apply to these messages.
If you subscribe to one of our SMS Services, you may be required to register and provide further Personal Information. We may also collect the date, time and content of your messages in the course of your use of the SMS Service. We will use the information we obtain in connection with our SMS Service for the purpose of sending the SMS messages. If fees are charged to your wireless account invoice, we may provide your carrier with your applicable information to facilitate the transaction in connection therewith. Your wireless carrier and other service providers may also collect data about your wireless device usage, and their practices are governed by their own policies. We may also contact your carrier, which may access the content of your wireless account, for the purpose of identifying and resolving technical problems and/or service-related complaints. We do not guarantee that your use of the SMS Service will be private or secure, and we are not liable to you for any lack of privacy or security you may experience. You are fully responsible for taking precautions and providing security measures best suited for your situation and intended use of the SMS Service. You may change your mind and unsubscribe to SMS Services at any time by following the instructions in the SMS messages.
We believe you should have the ability to access and edit the PII that you have provided to us. You may change any of your PII in your account online at any time by e-mailing us at Privacy@MultiChoiceInsurance.com. We encourage you to promptly update your PII if it changes. You may ask to have the information on your account deleted or removed; however, some information, such as past transactions, logs of technical support calls, or other information may not be deleted. In addition, it may be impossible to completely delete your information without some residual information because of backups.
Although we describe much of the following processes throughout this Privacy Policy, please do not hesitate to email us at Privacy@MultiChoiceInsurance.com to receive the information.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides consumers who are residents of the State of California with specific rights related to their Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions. It also requires us to disclose the information we collect, the purposes for which we collect it, and what we share and disclose.
California Civil Code § 1798.83, also known as the "Shine the Light" law, provides California residents with the right to request, once per year, without charge, information from website operators and owners regarding the PII that they collect online and offline, if any, and the third parties, including affiliates, with which they have shared this information during the preceding calendar year, for the direct marketing purposes of the third party. If such information is collected and shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes, the website operator or owner is required, upon request, to provide the list of categories of PII they collect, if any, and the names and addresses of all third parties with which it has shared such information for direct marketing purposes.
A website operator or owner may meet its obligations, and be exempt from such disclosures, under the Shine the Light law, if it provides California residents the right to opt-out of, and thereby prohibit, the website operator or owner from sharing such PII with third parties including its affiliates, for the direct marketing purposes of the third party.
In accordance with California Civil Code section 1798.83(c)(2), MCIS complies with California's "Shine the Light" law by providing all of its users, including its California users, with a cost-free method to opt-out of the sharing of PII with all third parties for the direct marketing of those third parties, by not disclosing to third parties, for their direct marketing purposes the PII of any customer if the customer has exercised the option to prevent such disclosure, and by disclosing these policies in its Privacy Policy. Consequently, MCIS is not obligated under Shine the Light to provide California users, who have requested such information, a list of the categories of the PII disclosed by MCIS to third parties for their direct marketing purposes or the names and addresses of the third parties to which MCIS has shared such PII for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year.
California residents may have further rights related to the handling of their PII under the California Consumer Privacy Act. While MCIS does not "sell" your PII in the traditional sense, it may share your information with third parties. California residents may have certain rights related to this information, including the right to ask that we "Do Not Sell Your PII," the right to ask that we Delete your PII, or the right to request access to the categories or specific pieces of PII we have collected about you. California residents also have the right to not be treated differently by MCIS in response to your decision to exercise any of these rights.
To learn more about these rights, to opt-out of our sharing of your PII, and to exercise other rights that apply, please contact MCIS by emailing us at Privacy@MultiChoiceInsurance.com. As part of your request, we may ask for certain information including your name and account information, or the manner in which you have previously interacted with MCIS. We will use this information only to contact you about your request and to verify your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

At our Site we make extensive efforts to secure your PII. We strive to take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of your PII. For example: We work hard to ensure that the data we collect is reliable, accurate, complete and current. We use PII only for the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with any applicable legal or ethical reporting or document retention requirements.
We limit access to PII only to specific employees, Service Partners, contractors and agents who have a reasonable need to come into contact with your information.
Additionally, we also employ a number of physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect PII. Our secure servers and our data centers are protected by encryption, and our servers reside behind firewalls and password protection.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. MCIS does not allow individuals under the age of 18 to sign up for insurance, nor do we knowingly collect or use any personal information from such children. If you are under the age of 18, do not submit any information to our Site. If we learn that we collected personal information from children under the age of 18, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. Notwithstanding the foregoing, parents or guardians may provide minor PII to us and our insurance provider Service Providers in order to include said minors in the insurance policy coverage. This minor PII shall be used in no way other than to purchase and process insurance policies for the minors.
You must be at least 18 years old to have our permission to use our Site. Our Privacy Policy is that we do not knowingly collect, use or disclose PII about minor visitors.
